Christmas Pageant

Our pageant ministry presents an annual production during Christmas Eve service.  The productions are presented by children and generally geared toward a younger audience. Basic drama techniques and vocal choir skills are taught by adult facilitators.  All participants in our pageant are taught that this is a ministry intended for the worship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and it is not for self edification. It is our hope that we present a biblically based message to our family and community based audience.

Our 2010 pageant included not only children but also youth from our church and from the community. 45 students ranging in age from 6 -18 were involved in every aspect of our pageant including acting, choir, choreography, musical ensembles, staging, lights, and sound.

“O Holy Night” is drama set to music. It was inspired by the beautiful lyrics written in some of today’s contemporary Christian music. It is our hope that as you take in the pageant visually, you also listen to the lyrics of each song. In doing so, you will be experiencing the message of our pageant.  Watch the pageant now.

"I was most struck by the originality of the pageant.  That is, the entire thing was conceived, written, choreographed, outfitted, performed, acted and produced by members of the church – and most of that was young people!  I was surprised to look up at the balcony and see middle and high school boys with headphones operating the lights, sound and recording devices.  And that dance was choreographed by a student!  As for the drama itself, the gospel was clearly pronounced in word and song, but also emphasized through rich symbolism.  I heard more than one person say that this was the best pageant to date."

-Pastor Grant

"I don't believe I have ever worshiped or been convicted during a children's Christmas pageant before!  Truly these students did a remarkable job conducting a worship service and clearly presenting the Gospel message."

-John Wilson

"I'm glad with the outcome of the pageant. It was good to know that I might be touching someone's heart out in the audience. It was a great experience playing the role of God. Scene 3 (the Israelite scene)is a perfect reflection of me-even though I sin, God is merciful, forgiving and loving. 'Oh, how he loves us!' "

- Jonathan Lindsay - 6th Grade

"I absolutely loved the Christmas Eve Pageant this year! The contemporary music combined with the traditional hymns was refreshing and upbeat.  The choreography and variety in the program was great and I think all the messages were loud and clear without them even needing to be spoken."

- Melissa Foy

"This years pageant was incredibly powerful, by sharing the gospel through many dances and performances. It was evident that God was present and working through the kids, which made the 2010 pageant memorable."

- Morgan Smith
